The Angel of the Odd

Always I tell my favorite writer is Edgar Allen Poe. But I just read a few short story by him and some poems. So I planned to read all of short story. The first short story is [The Angel of the Odd]. That was written in strange English word. So for me, Korean, reading that was not easy.

That story is a guy in disastrous fortune. That reminds me Nathanael West's [A Cool Million]. Both story are about guy disastrously ill fortune but both story are regard as black comedy.

The guy in the story raged at the hoax that he read in the news paper. Then Angel of the Odd appeared and punish him with ridiculously disastrous serial events.

I read this short story as like this "Now you will read a bunch of my hoax, so be prepare to believe my hoaxes."

Anyway I also read his most beloved romantic poem [Annabelle Lee]. Even from that romantic poem, I could read some kind of Necrophilia. "Why did you lie down besides the tomb of your dead girl?"
